Welcome To The Great Beyond

"The Great Beyond" is my upcoming original supernatural drama. This is the official site for information concerning casting, show dates, and other news.

The series, which I hope to produce and show online sometime in the near future, follows eight unusual friends-- 3 witches, 3 vampires, and 2 of their poor clueless human friends-- as they grow up in a small seaside town that serves as a neutral ground for warring supernatural groups struggle to settle their differences.

Jesse- a vampire who grew up with a family that taught him to look at all non-vampires as food or slaves. Now Jesse struggles to adjust to the more restrained ways practiced in his new home, the United Nations of the supernatural world.

Tessa- Jesse's cousin who obsesses over all things human, and deliberately makes friends with every human she meets just to anger her mother and father, who want her to become a Vampire Priestess.

Serena- Tessa's other cousin, also a black sheep of the Vampire world. The Vampires hate her because she is a Siren on her father's side, but his genes have given her a magical charisma that she uses to her advantage as she sweet-talks her way out of every predicament.

Amber- a bubbly, eccentric witch with the power to conjure objects out of thin air. Her tendency to talk to herself about butterflies and burst out giggling at random moments make her seem like a space cadet, but she is actually one of the most gifted witches of her age and a politician of rising power in the supernatural world.

Aidan- an unsuspecting human who becomes attracted to Amber, who is absolutely amazed that anyone would like her "before he'd even seen all my magic tricks!" Aidan, as a lowly human, is sometimes looked down upon by the rest of the group, but Amber is always quick to remind them that "Aidan has a superpower, too! He knows Calculus!"

Eve- a shy young witch with the ability to see the future and read minds. The terrifying visions she sometimes sees have made her somewhat timid, but she cares deeply about her friends and often uses her powers to keep them out of trouble.

Jill- a witch adopted by human parents, Jill is often torn between the desire to experiment with her powers (an ability to manipulate the natural cycles- of people, plants, animals-- even the weather!) and her wish to please her parents, who love her but are terrified by her unusual talents.

Hallie- Amber's human childhood friend. Hallie can't understand why none of Amber's friends are willing to include her until Amber spills the secret of their powers-- a punishable offense in the witches' community.

The plotlines vary, and cover everythng from the friends' relationships with one another to corrupt magical governments to expansion of their powers to the most shocking secret of all-- Real Vampires are tan, not pale... Included in the first episode ALONE are a magical custody battle, a takeover of innocent humans' free will, rebellion, jealousy, drunk surfers crashing a Vampire Ball, romance, politics, and a very zealous Water Balloon General.

I invite anyone and everyone to send me questions, comments, and criticisms.

Now, be completely honest. I don't want to build up a false sense of security and wind up giving many precious hours of my life planning, nagging my sister to help with the scripts, begging my friends to act in it, stealing a better camera, robbing a bank to finance props and special effects, only to find out from a random youtube viewer that it "sux, u stoopid bitch :-P." Because, let's face it... that would just be sad.
